Ampedia (Ampicillin) Presentation: 100mg powder for injection x 1 vial / box; 250mg powder for injection x 1 vial / box. Description: Ampedia powder for injection is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic parenteral penicillin with bactericidal activity. Parenteral dose design facilitates administration of Ampicillin to severely ill pediatric patients in whom vomiting or poor absorption precludes the use of an oral form. Ceelin (Ascorbic Acid)   Presentation: 100mg/mL Drops x 15, 30mL bottles; 100mg/5mL Syrup x 120, 250 & 500mL. Description: Ceelin is Pediatrica’s brand of concentrated Vitamin C in flavorful orange taste. Ceelin is free from after-taste or disagreeable odor, thus encouraging little children to take the recommended minimum daily requirement of the vitamin. Cefalin (Cefalexin)  Presentation: 100mg/mL powder for oral drops x bottle of 10mL; 125mg/5mL powder for suspension x bottle of 60mL; 250mg/5mL powder for suspension x bottle of 30 & 60mL. Each mL of reconstituted drops contains 100mg of Cefalexin (as the monohydrate). Each 5mL of reconstituted suspension contains 125mg of Cefalexin (as the monohydrate). Each 5mL of reconstituted suspension contains 250mg of Cefalexin (as the monohydrate). Description: Cefalexin (Cefalin), a semisynthetic cephalosporin, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. In vitro tests demonstrate that cephalosporins are bactericidal because of their inhibition of cell wall synthesis. Comprilex (Isoniazid Pyridoxine HC1)  Presentation: Available in 120 and 250mL Syrup. Each 5mL (1tsp) contains: 200mg of Isoniazid and 12mg of Pyrodoxine HC1 (Vitamin B6). Actions: Isoniazid: Isoniazid kills actively growing tubercle bacilli by inhibiting the biosynthesis of mycolic acids which are the major components of the bacterial cell wall of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pyridoxine hydrochloride: Pyridoxine hydrochloride is converted to its active forms, pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxamine phosphate, required in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. It enables body tissues to obtain energy from metabolism to carbohydrates, fats, and proteins by functioning as coenzymes for various metabolic and biochemical reactions. Indications: Prevention and treatment of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis in children in conjunction with at least one other antituberculosis drug. Disudrin (Phenylpropanolamine)   Presentation: 6.25mg/mL Syrup (Drops) x 10mL Bottle; 12.5 mg/mL Syrup x 60mL bottle. Description: Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride is a synthetic phenylpropanolamine sympathominetic agent designed for the relief of nasal congestion due to common colds and other nasopharyngeal disorders in infants and children. Dolan FP (Ibuprofen)  Presentation: Each 5mL suspension contains 100mg Ibuprofen x 60mL bottle. Description: Dolan FP, a brand of oral Ibuprofen suspension, is a pleasant tasting orange-flavored preparation especially developed for the relief of fever, mild to moderately severe pain, and inflammation in children. Ferlin (Iron + Vitamin B complex)   Presentation: Drops Per mL Ferrous sulfate 74.64mg, folic acid 10µg, vit B1 10mg, vit B12 25µg, vit B6 5mg. Syrup Per per 5mL Ferrous sulfate 149.34mg, vit B1 10mg, vit B12 50µg, vit B6 10mg. Syrup 120mL. Drops 15mL. Actions: Iron is an essential constituent of the body necessary for hemoglobin formation and for processes in living tissues involving oxygen. Administration of iron corrects erythropoietic or blood-forming abnormalities due to iron deficiency. Iron does not stimulate erythropoiesis in the absence of iron deficiency. Each 5mL suspension contains 250mg Paracetamol. Description: Naprex is an alcohol-free Paracetamol preparation. It is safe and effective in pain relief and lowering of fever in infants and children. Description: Pediachlor is Pediatrica’s brand of Chloramphenicol Palmitate, found to possess marked antimicrobial effectiveness against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including large viruses and rickettsiae. Pediakin (Amikacin) Presentation: IM/IV Injection x packs of 5 (2mL) ampules each. Each 2mL ampule contains 100,250 & 500mg Amikacin (as the Sulfate). Description: Pediakin is Pediatrica’s brand of Amikacin Sulfate, a semisynthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is water-soluble acetylated derivative of Kanamycin A. This unique chemical modification protects susceptible hydroxyl and amino groups from aminoglycoside-inactivating enzymes, thus making Pediakin resistant to most of the enzymes that inactivate Kanamycin, Gentamicin, Tobramycin, Sisomicin, and Netilmicin. Pediamox (Amoxicillin)  Presentation: Suspension 250mg/5mL x 30mL, 60mL. Drops 100mg/mL x 10mL. Vial 250mg x 1’s. Each 5mL suspension contains Amoxicillin (as Trihydrate) 125mg or 250mg. Actions: Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin which kills bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. Spectrum of Activity: Pedimaox is effective in killing Gram-positive organisms such as non-penicillinase-producing strains of Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, groups A, B, C, and G Streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, some strains of Enterococci, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., and Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae. Gram-negative organisms such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, neisseria meningitides, Haemophilus influenzae, some strains of H. parainfluenzae, and H. ducreyi, proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli and some strains of Salmonella, and Shigella. Relestal (Dicycloverine HC1)   Presentation: Syrup 10mg/5mL x 60mL bottle. Drops 5mg/mL x 15mL bottle. Actions: Pharmacology: Dicycloverine hydrochloride acts as a nonselective smooth muscle relaxant by: 1) a specific anticholinergic effect at the acetylcholine-receptor sites and 2) acting directly on the bradykinin- and histamine-induced spasm. Dicycloverine has little or no effect on gastric secretion. Trizole (Cotrimoxazole)   Presentation: Available in bottles of 30 & 60mL. Each 5mL contains 400mg Sulfamethoxazole and 80mg Trimethoprim. Description: Trizole Pediatric Suspension combines two antimicrobials: Sulfamethoxazole, a superior sulfonamide and Trimethoprim, a diaminopyrimidine, in a 5:1 ratio which produces optimum synergistic antibacterial activity for effective and safe chemotherapy of a wide range of infections in children. Ultraxime (Cefixime)   Presentation: 20mg/mL Granules for Oral Drops x 10mL bottle; 100mg/5mL Granules for Suspension x 30 & 60mL bottle; 50mg/g Fine Granules x 50 (1g) sachets. Description: Ultraxime is an oral cephem derivative developed b the Central Research Laboratories of Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Generically, it is called Cefixime, which has a vinyl group of 3 position and a carbomethoxyimino group of the 7 position of 7-aminocephalosporanic acid. The product is stable to various b-lactamases, differing from previous oral cephems and penicillins. It has a broad-spectrum activity against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms; in particular, it has a good activity against gram-negative bacilli. Its mode of action is bactericidal. It produces a maximum serum concentration 4 hours after oral administration, so with its prolonged serum concentration and urinary excretion, and its high biliary concentration, efficacy with twice daily dosing is possible. |
